Sailing takes centre stage in Largs

Largs Regatta Festival brings sailors, spectators and sailing clubs together for one of the area’s major annual watersports events.

Based around Largs Yacht Haven and the surrounding waters of the Firth of Clyde, the festival combines different types of sailing and racing across several days.

The programme traditionally includes the Cumbraes Weekend along with racing for yachts, dinghies and other classes, with boats competing in the waters between Largs and Great Cumbrae.

Even if you are not taking part, the Regatta is an excellent time to visit Largs and see the Clyde filled with sails.

The waterfront provides opportunities to watch activity on the water, while Largs Yacht Haven lies just south of the town centre.

Visitors can also take the ferry across to Great Cumbrae, providing another perspective on the waters around Largs and Cumbrae.

With Largs’ long association with sailing and the Firth of Clyde, the Regatta Festival is an important part of the town’s annual events calendar.
