Largs Fireworks at the Pencil Monument

Fireworks on the Largs seafront

One of Largs’ traditional autumn events is the annual fireworks and bonfire display beside the historic Pencil Monument.

Usually taking place around the beginning of November, the event brings families and visitors to the waterfront for an evening beside the Firth of Clyde.

The Pencil is one of Largs’ best-known landmarks and commemorates the Battle of Largs in 1263.

Its waterfront setting also makes it a distinctive location for the town’s annual fireworks celebration.

An autumn evening in Largs

Visitors heading into town for the display can make an evening of their trip with a walk along the promenade followed by food or drinks in Largs before or after the event.

As the event takes place outdoors beside the coast, visitors should dress appropriately for November weather and check the latest local event information before travelling.

The fireworks provide another opportunity to experience Largs outside the traditional summer season.
